I’m applying and hearing nothing — what now?
It’s exhausting to put in the effort and hear nothing back. When you're stuck in limbo, it’s easy to feel discouraged or start questioning your worth. But not hearing back doesn’t mean you’re not qualified. It just means it’s time to refocus your strategy and take back some control.
Start by reviewing the opportunities you’ve already applied for. Which ones make sense to follow up on?
Is the job posting still live?
Can you find a hiring manager or contact person?
Do you know anyone at the company or someone who can introduce you?
Could you reach out on LinkedIn or follow up by phone or in person?
Mapping out your options helps the process feel more manageable. Pick one step to try next, then give it space to work.
If you’ve applied to several roles and haven’t heard back, pause and assess:
Does your resume clearly show your impact and fit?
Are your job search terms too narrow?
Are there skill gaps or parts of your story that need more clarity?
Could your network help you uncover new opportunities?
Is it time to connect with new people and expand your visibility?
These aren’t signs of failure — they’re part of refining your strategy.
